Thank you to all the riders (and parents) that took part in the Southern Cape / Eden Spur MTB XCO series for 2016. The time has flown so quick that we are now in the week prior to the final and what a series! We have had all records broken with the best participation numbers yet during the 3rd event at Montessori School Knysna: 164 riders!
To ensure that we have a smooth final event, we want to encourage all riders to enter online (link). Not only will it then make it easier on race day for the registration personnel, but also allow us to plan the event better. If you have difficulties in entering, please contact me via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Below is the programme that might have some slight changes in regards to the amount of laps for certain categories. The start and finishing times will not change though and you will be able to plan your day accordingly.
Please allow enough time to collect your number plate to ensure that you are ready for the time slot for your race.
Riders will also be seeded according to the Category Seeding List for the first 6 riders in each category. If a rider is not at the start, the next rider on the seeding list will take his place. Seeding List.
I want to thank Hugo du Plessis for preparing the course at Mt.View. Without people like Jan Venter, Danny Aaron and Anthony Chambel that tiredlessly work on courses for our riders to ride on, the series would not have been possible. Thank you from me as well as the sponsor Spur.
On the point of course preparation, PLEASE DO NOT RIDE ON THE COURSES WHEN THEY ARE WET OR MUDDY – reason is that a lot of work goes into preparing the course and one cyclist riding on a wet track can ruin it for all the riders that need to race on it.
